Images from G110 at SAF 2022 by JW Harrington

Busy times at the Gallery 110 booth at the Seattle Art Fair, 21-24 July. It was good to have the SAF back in these still-pandemic times. I felt there was a larger participation by Seattle-area galleries, which is certainly good for regional artists. I also felt some, few, more nods to the disturbing (some might even say disgusting) times we’re in.

Here I am on opening night — with two Impossibility of Knowing paintings.

Below left, through the viewers you can see paintings by Gallery 110 members Bonnie Hopper and Michael Abraham. To the right, Michael Abraham is visible behind two of his sculptures, with his finger pointing toward his painting behind the viewers.

Berkano Gallery in Seattle by JW Harrington

Next Friday 8 July is the Belltown art walk, 6-9PM.  Belltown is a complex, compact district in Seattle.  It has old bars and restaurants, lots of new development, and the former Labor Temple, which housed union offices and labor halls.  That historic building is now the Labour Temple, housing small-business offices, services and amenities, and artwork provided by Berkano Gallery.   It’s at 2800 First Ave., taking up the block between Clay and Broad Streets.  From 6-9PM, join the folks touring the building and artwork, including ten of my pieces (contact the gallery for purchase).  The building is open during regular business hours – just let folks know you’d like to look at the art!

First Friday (and special July) at Collective Visions Gallery by JW Harrington

This Friday 1 July is Bremerton’s first Friday art walk, (4:30 - 7:30PM) and the Collective Visions Gallery has several shows on view (331 Pacific Ave., two blocks from the ferry terminal).  Shirley Sakatani takes center stage with “Exploring My Japanese-American Heritage.”  Her website has the heading “Raw, Vibrant, Unapologetic,” and the pieces on display are just that.  Downstairs features “CVG Artists & Friends”;  I'm a "friend," and my painting Le nuvole di Como is featured (it's one of my favorites).  Live music on Friday evening – but the show is open through July, Wednesdays – Saturdays, 11AM – 4PM.  Take a trip to Bremerton!
